The U23 Ugandan football (Uganda Kobs) team won’t be taking part in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
This is after they were withdrawn from the qualifiers as confirmed by FUFA president Eng Moses Magogo.
Magogo said that this was done due to financial constraints.
The Uganda Kobs were set to take on Guinea in the second round of qualifiers.
Uganda Kobs were slated to take on Guinea at the Chamazi stadium in Tanzania for the first leg on the 22nd of October.
A second leg would then be played at the St Mary’s stadium a week after on the 29th.
The U23 AFCON tournament will take place in June 2023 and is set to be hosted by Morocco.
