Chimpanzee tracking in the Murchison falls National Parks Budongo forest is one of the many activities in Uganda’s game parks, Budongo forest which is found in the south of the park is a home to over 600 chimpanzees and the largest community of over 100 chimpanzees has been habituated around the kaniyo pabidi area
The trip will provide many animals during the game drives and also the boat cruise along the Nile will provide some water wildlife such as hippos and crocodiles and at the end of the boat cruise you set out on a memorable hike to the top of the spectacular Murchison falls.
DAY 1: Kampala to Budongo Forest.
Our guide will pick you up early morning from the hotel or airport and drive to Budongo Forest with an optional stop over at the Ziwa Rhino Sancutary (at an added cost) or have lunch at Kabelega dinners and drive through Masindi to Budongo forest in Murchison Falls for a night.

DAY 2: Chimp Trekking in Budongo forest.
After an early morning breakfast, have a briefing about chimp tracking by an experienced tour guide before you set off into Budongo forest for 1 or 2 hours trek in such for chimpanzees. Along the walk you will come across different types of 359 bird species, 289butterflies species, 24 species of small animals 9 of which are primates, 465 species of trees and shrubs, and 130 species of moths. The forest is believed to harbor over 600 chimpanzees. Expect to return by mid day and then check out of Budongo forest and head into Murchison Falls for an evening relaxation and a night over at the lodge or campsite.
DAY 3: Game drive, Boat Cruise and Hike the falls.
At about 5 or 6: am after breakfast drive to the banks of the river for an early morning ferry crossing to the northern side and explore the major game trails for a variety of game sightings including herds of buffalos, lots of giraffes, elephants, thousands of kobs and oribis, many Jackson’s hartebeests, waterbucks, bushbucks, warthogs, and the playful baboons as well as a number of savannah birds. The game drive lasts about 4 hours with a short break at the hippo pool at the shores of the Albert Nile for about half an hour and return to the lodge for lunch or continue for a boat cruise to the bottom of the falls along the Nile and expect to see a lot of hippos cooling off in the water, buffalos and elephants drinking from the Nile, warthogs, waterbucks, kobs and other animals eating fresh grass along the banks with birds such as cormorants, red-throated bee-eaters, cattle egrets, skimmers, and African fish eagles.
Upon reaching the base of Murchison Falls you will have to get off the boat with a group set to do the hike to the top of the falls with an experienced ranger for about 45 minutes through woodland to the top of Murchison Falls for a completely different experience of this magnificent waterfall. This is an experience that brings all the senses into play: watch waves of white water tumble hypnotically through this six-meter chasm, listen to the roar, taste the spray on your face and feel the rock shake beneath your feet. Sheer sensory overload! If you don’t fancy the trek to the top, stop off at the north bank during your game drive, and walk down a set of steps to stand within meters of the rapids. Then back the campsite or lodge for a night and relaxation.
DAY 4: Murchison Falls to Kampala.
After breakfast relax at the logde for about an hour or depending on receipt departure time for Kampala and thus marking the end of your 4 days safari/tour.
